STINK-SHIELD® Vertical Anti-smell valve
Specifications
The STINK-SHIELD® Vertical is an anti-smell valve designed to stop bad smells coming from surface water drains.
It is placed into the manholes of surface water drain, on new or existing networks, on all types of pipeline and drain configuration.
It consists of:
• a recyclable SEBS elastomer body,
• a grade 1.4401 (316) stainless steel expansion ring
• and EPDM 60 Shore membranes
It is installed without the need for tools.
Available:
- in standard version from DN 100 to DN 400,
- and custom-made.
Patented and tested by the French Scientific and Technical Centre for Building (CSTB), the STINK-SHIELD® Vertical is a new version of the STINK-SHIELD® which has already been installed in the drains with uPVC bends.
OPERATING

2 - WHEN THERE IS A BUILDUP OF WATER AT THE MANHOLE DUE TO RAINFALLTHE 3 MEMBRANES OPEN COMPLETELY
3 – IN DRY PERIODSTHE MEMBRANES REMAIN SEALED AND CONTAIN THE ODOUR INSIDE THE COLLECTOR
INSTALLATION / APPLICATION
STINK-SHIELD® Vertical adapts to all types of manhole configuration :
• non-perpendicular outlets;
• gutters.
It can be adapted to all types of pipeline, uPVC, cast iron, clay, concrete, cement, etc..., in standard or purpose-built versions.
1 – The valve is installed in the inlet of the surface water drainage system
2 – Cut off the edges of the stop to the size of the collector inletUse a Stanley knife
3 – Place the valve into the stop
4 – The expansion ring helps to keep the device in place and may be removed at any time for inspection or maintenance
