NORHAM Flexible couplings XLC
Specifications

"Big brother" of the NORHAM Flexible Coupling LC, the NORHAM Flexible Coupling extra-large XLC coupling is the same type of sleeve, purpose-built but 300 mm in width, which allows for greater tolerance in the cutting of the pipe ends and greater movement of the pipes due to settlement or thermal movement.
Made from EPDM and grade 1.4301 (304) austenitic stainless steel, the NORHAM Flexible Coupling XLC coupling withstands temperatures between -40°C and +140°C.
It holds an operating pressure of up to 1 bar.
Like the rest of the couplings in the range, NORHAM Flexible Coupling XLC can be installed above ground or covered by earth.
It is perfectly appropriate for a sewerage, drainage and other non-pressure applications.

Installation

To set up the NORHAM Flexible couplings XLC,
- Start by drawing a mark at 150 mm (or half the width of the coupling) from the end of the largest pipe.
- Slide the NORHAM Flexible couplings XLC onto this same pipe and bring the second pipe as close as possible to it.
- Position the NORHAM Flexible couplings XLC so that it overlaps the two pipes, in such a way that its edge aligns with the mark drawn.
- Slide the coupling up to the mark drawn and finish by tightening all the worm drive units in sequence across the width of the coupling to the recommended torque (the recommended torque setting is indicated on the coupling’s label and in the laying instructions supplied with the coupling).
