NORHAM Flexible couplings SC for plumbing systems
Specifications
The NORHAM Flexible couplings SC for plumbing systems are “straight” or symmetrical couplings, fitted with a central shear band made from stainless steel.
Available from DN 50 to DN 100, NORHAM Flexible couplings SC for plumbing systems allows pipes of various materials and diameters for sewerage, drainage and other non-pressure applications, to be assembled and repaired.
NORHAM Flexible couplings SC for plumbing systems SC has two important features:
- the TOX® = the stainless steel parts are assembled by pressing rather than welding enhances corrosion resistance over time;
- the Clip-In = an EPDM-profile system enabling the end clamps to be kept in place during the transport and installation of the couplings.
- made from Ethylene Propylene Diene Monomer ( EPDM) and grade 1.4301 (304) austenitic stainless steel (with options: Nitrile (NBR), grade 1.4401 (316) austenitic stainless steel), they are extremely durable and have a service life at least as long as that of the pipelines.
They can withstand:
- a maximum pressure of 1.5 bar and angular deviation is possible up to 3° (ask us)
- a shearing force (expressed in Newtons) of up to 25 times the DN (in mm).
The NORHAM Flexible couplings SC for plumbing systems can be installed both inside and outside of buildings and can be buried or laid above ground. Only a common screwdriver is needed to fit them.

Installation
Installing a NORHAM Flexible couplings SC for plumbing systems requires very little time and a single tool: a screwdriver.
- First of all, draw a mark on the pipe with the largest external diameter to represent half the width of the coupling.
- Then slide the coupling onto the tube with the largest external diameter and align the two pipes by bringing them as close as possible to each other.
- Slide the coupling up to the mark drawn and finish by tightening all the worm drive units in sequence across the width of the coupling to the recommended torque. (the recommended torque setting is indicated on the coupling’s label and in the laying instructions supplied with the coupling).
