Anti-smell protection

During certain times of the year, city centres are often subjected to bad smells coming up from the underground networks.

The presence of combined sewer systems is amongst the origins of these rising smells. The siphons that are sometimes found in the manholes dry out during prolonged dry periods and no longer provide a seal against smells.

The STINK-SHIELD^® anti-smell valves are installed in the surface water drains in order to stop bad smells from rising up over the course of the year, even in dry periods.
